When it comes to eating healthy, desserts are often something we skip. Typically when we think of dessert, we think of added sugars and fats the body doesn’t necessarily need. Today, we’re going to create a dessert that is packed with flavor and healthy ingredients. If you don’t like strawberries, you can easily substitute them out for blackberries, raspberries or even blueberries. Like them all? Mix it up, either way this is a tasty dessert/snack that is low on sugar and high on the fiber and protein per serving.
Today, we bring to you Strawberry Banana Chia Pudding. Let us know what you think after you’ve made it!
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
3 Tbsp chia seeds
Half of a banana, thinly sliced.
6 strawberries, thinly sliced.
*Can add Stevia if you prefer it sweeter, not necessary at all though.
Recipe (vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free).
We recommend using a mason jar (or similar container) with a lid. This will allow you to mix everything up without making a mess. Do not blend your strawberry banana chia pudding, the chia seeds need to remain whole to mimic “tapioca” often found in puddings. Let the mixture sit overnight or for at least a few hours. This can easily be made in the morning and stored in the fridge for lunch or a snack. Want to make your pudding even more creative? Cacao nibs, almonds, coconut flakes and even granola can add a whole other element to this creation. Tried something different that you loved? Let us know below in the comments. We love hearing what ideas you guys have come up with as well.
