Dawn’s Education & Qualifications:

Dawn Balusik graduated with high marks from the East-West College of Natural Medicine (Sarasota, FL) with a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine (2004). She also graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science (1996) and from the Crystal Mountain School of Massage Therapy (1997).

In the State of Florida, Dawn is licensed as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture Physician (ap1972), Primary Care Physician and Massage Therapist (ma36601). In Rhode Island she is a Licensed Doctor of Acupuncture (da265).

Dawn is a Nationally Board-Certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This designation encompasses Board Certification in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology, and includes a variety of Western biomedicine educational requirements.

In addition to her expertise in Oriental Medicine, Dawn has a solid working knowledge of Western medicine, having studied numerous biomedicine disciplines such as anatomy and physiology, western pathology and diagnosis, orthopedic evaluation, biochemistry, clinical nutrition, lab test interpretation and pharmacology. This understanding of Western medicine coupled with her proficiency in Oriental medicine gives Dawn a comprehensive understanding of health that infuses her practice with a unique complementary-based style.

Dawn’s continuing education and clinical experience has given her specific skills at treating:
